Big Payday Up For Grabs at 2024 John Deere Classic

Big Payday Up For Grabs at 2024 John Deere Classic

This weekend, the 2024 John Deere Classic will take place in Silvis, Illinois, on the PGA Tour. There will be plenty of cash prizes for anyone who can successfully negotiate TPC Deere Run and emerge with a purse of $8 million on offer.

Davis Thompson leads by two shots entering the final round on Sunday after shooting an amazing 9-under 62 in round three. Thompson is on track to win his first PGA Tour event and the tournament's prestigious $1.44 million winner's prize.

Chasing Thompson are England's Aaron Rai and American Eric Cole, who are both at 19-under. A host of top talents lurk not too far back as well, with five players within four shots of the lead. All are licking their lips at the chance to take home a sizable first place check and the spoils that come with a Tour title.

The purse money extends deep into the standings, offering compensation to over 80 made cuts. Outside of the winner's share, second place takes home $872,000. Third receives $552,000 while those finishing in positions four through ten all pocket over $200,000.

Even players missing the cut will walk away with something, as the purse is spread down to the 72nd and final payable position worth $16,080. It's these lucrative payouts that keep so many pros battling all four rounds in search of glory and a payday.

With Thompson's slender lead and plenty of big names still in contention, Sunday's final round at the John Deere Classic is shaping up to be an exciting chase to the finish and $1.44 million first prize. The wide open nature of the tournament should make for a thrilling money race to the check.
